SHO Shaun Hergatt's Burger for BURGER WEEK

I knew I had to eat at least one burger from one of the restaurants participating in Burger Week.  Apparently, Los Angeles also had their burger week last week.  But in New York City, Burger Week has been extended through this Friday by some of the restaurants.

In between my said busy day, I was able to take an express trip downtown to SHO Shaun Hergatt's restaurant located in the Financial District.  This restaurant is not that easy to find because it's inside a condo building on the 2nd floor.  There are no signs outside that I could easily identify.  But when I got directed to open the next door, the concierge directed me to the 2nd floor.


I stepped in to a sophisticated modern - Asian designed room with homey ambience.  It had dark leather couches with hughes of red and orange large pillows in the center of the room.  The tables were on the sides.

The room leading to the formal dining area has walls of wine encased in glass with a row of oil lights in a long container filled with water to the brim.  (I hope you're not like me.  The room was a little dark that I thought the long table was glass; so I placed my camera down and it sank in the water!)

Now, to get to this fabulous hamburger.  Shaun Hergatt did a truly delicious twist on his hamburger.  He used homemade rosemary and Parmesan brioche bun, and layered it with caramelized onions, ramp compote, a ramp leaf (instead of lettuce), house-cured grilled lamb bacon, tomatoes, Cabot clothbound cheddar cheese, and of course short rib burger.  It was served with large square "french fries" - pommes pont-neuf, which he triple-fried, and a little dish of truffle mayo for dipping.

IT WAS WELL WORTH IT!

We could not pass up the chance to try the Moxie Float above.
It's made with Moxie Soda, Rittenhouse Rye, Whiskey Ice Cream & Licorice Whipped Cream.
A Must try!!

Although they have ala carte menu, they also have prix-fixed menus both for lunch and dinner.
